I recently finished New Moon (don't worry, I bought a used copy off e-bay so I didn't pay as much for it if I had bought if from a bookstore) and here are my thoughts )

Why so serious?
I haven't posted in awhile because I've been addicted to the games on my new iPod Classic, especially UNO.

Today's topics:

Gossip Girl )

V-Day Decorations )

Golden Globes )
christmas trees
I've finished my Christmas shopping! Here's what I got for everyone:

Dad: The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life by Alice Schroeder
Mom: Burberry Brit perfume and lavender chamomile hand soap
Bill: The Dark Knight 2-disc DVD
Kelly: Philosophy "The Recipe Box" with three body washes: red velvet cake, sweet creamy frosting, and strawberry shortcake and winter candy apple body wash
Maggie and Stanley: I got each a rawhide chew bone, Itty Bitty Bones treats, and dog food sampler, plus for Maggie I got Peanut Butter Beagle Bagels because she's part beagle and loves peanut butter, and for Stanley I got oven baked treats. They look just like Oreo cookies! I got their stuff at the Three Dog Bakery.

My Christmas wishlist )

I checked out four Gossip Girl books from the library. Do you know how embarrasing that was? Damn that show for being so addictive. I have a feeling I'll bitch how the books don't hold a candle to the TV show!

I was also amazed when I paid only $18 for a full tank of gas. It wasn't that long ago when I had to pay $50 for a full tank! Saving money feels great! (Or spending it on Christmas gifts instead, anyway).

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

Watership Down

  • Jan. 26th, 2008 at 2:10 PM
rabbit
I spent the last couple of days at my parents house and my dad had just finished Watership Down and here's how our conversation went:

Dad: "I finished the bunny book last night."
Me: "How did you like it?"
Dad: "It's the best book I've ever read."
Me (eyes widen:) "That's the best book I've ever read."

Yay, I'm so happy he liked it. If you haven't read Watership Down by Richard Adams, it's a must. Now my mom is going to read it next. She has a lot of pressure to like it. Dad joked that if she didn't like it, then something's wrong with her.

Mom and I saw 27 Dresses. It was cute, but one of those movies I won't remember much about in a couple of months. There was one dress that looked like one of my mom's old bridesmaid dresses!

I really loved Watership Down, one of the best books I've ever read. Who knew a book about rabbits could be so captivating? I have to admit, it took some time to get into it (90 pages), but once the story started to pick up and I was starting to know all the rabbits (I think there's 16 or more in the story), that's when I couldn't put it down. I loved Kehaar the seagull! His accent was so cute, though for the longest time whenever he said "peeg box" or "peeg lake" I thought he was saying pig, not big. Then I realized... Man, that Efrafa warren was all kinds of scary. Kind of like a Prison Break for rabbits, heh. I had no idea that rabbits only live for 2-3 years. I know they have a lot of predators, but I figured they can usually run away pretty fast. Whenever I see a rabbit, I'm going to think of Hazel and Fiver or Pipkin...I loved Pipkin! He was so cute.

spoiler for those who haven't read the book )
