I have a bone to pick and it's about how cats seem to get a bad rap in society. Worse than dogs, anyway. Let me ask you something: have you ever met someone who hates dog? Afraid, maybe, but I have yet to meet someone who despises dogs. Now let me ask you this: have you ever met someone who hates cat? I have. Quite a few people, actually. Now to play devil's advocate, there was a time in my life when I went through a "I hate cats phase". When I was five or six, I got scratched by a cat on the face and vowed from then on I would have nothing to do with the vile animal. Of course, I soon learned that cats aren't the vicious, anti-social, companion of the villain that the media seems to portray them as. My late cat, McKenzie, and my current cat, Milo, are two of the sweetest, friendliest, most loving cats I've ever known and they certainly can't be the only two cats in existence that are like that!
So, even though I adore dogs (especially Maggie, my brother's dog) and have nothing against the canines, I wanted to give props to the cats and their owners out there and tell you (and the cat haters out there) why I think cats make better pets than dogs:
( The cat's meow )
BTW, while I love my icon, as an English major, it irritates me to see there's an apostrophe that shouldn't be there. But that vent is for another post!
