I'm currently watching season four of The X-Files and last night I watched an episode that had me giggling for the first time since I started watching the entire series.

I got to buy all my birthday presents this year as I was given money and gift cards for my gifts. With the money my parents gave me, I put half in the bank and spent the other half. I bought:
-The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
-$25 itunes gift card ( songs I've bought so far )
-The following used CDs from CD Tradepost:
Waking up Laughing - Martina McBride, Confessions on a Dance Floor - Madonna, Me and My Gang - Rascal Flatts, Pocket Full of
Kryptonite - Spin Doctors.
The following from Sephora (my $60 rebate check went to the majority of this purchase):
-Philosophy body wash and bubble bath in Carmel Apple
-Urban Decay eye shadow in Midnight Cowboy Rides Again
-Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion
-Eyeshadow remover from Clinique
-Brambleberry Rose Lip Balm
-This fragrance from Aquolina.
And my favorite present was from my brother and his fiancee, they gave me a $50 gift certificate to Forever 21.com, whoo! I've already ordered these two items:
This red plaid vest (to match my red plaid shoes I recently got!)
and
This coat in mustard. (I had a tough time choosing between yellow and purple, but I remembered I already have a purple jacket, so I went with yellow!)
And finally, a $25 gift certificate to Best Buy from my aunt. I'll probably buy The Dark Knight with it when it comes out on DVD.

So I just watched the entire third season of Project Runway. L-o-o-o-v-e that show; so sad that I don't get Bravo and have to wait a year until it comes out of DVD. My favorite contestant was Kayne. Would he not be the perfect gay boyfriend? First of all, he's adorable and I love his accent and the way he talks a million words a minute. Second of all, he can bring the snark. I can just imagine gossiping with him about all the juicy Hollywood gossip. And third, even though he did have some misses, he did make some fabulous clothes, and I would love him to make me some clothes. I love you, Kayne!
My favorite overall designer was probably Laura. Even though she always designed these elegant dresses, they always looked so beautiful and well-made.
My least favorite was Vincent. God, what a nutcase and he made some real shit. I always thought Jeffrey was an asshole and of course he won. (Sorry if I spoiled that, but I'm sure everyone knows by now). Okay, now it's time to look at some of my favorite - and least favorite! - outfits from each show. (Be warned: there are a LOT of photos!)
( Challenge #1: Home Sewn )
( Challenge #2: Fit for a Queen )
( Challenge #3: Designer's Best Friend )
( Challenge #4: Reap What You Sew )
( Challenge #5: Iconic Statement )
( Challenge #6: Waste Not, Want Not )
( Challenge #7: Everyday Woman )
( Challenge #8: High Flying Fashion )
( Challenge #9: Couture Du Jour )
( Challenge #10: Black and White )
( Challenge #11: What the Elle? )
( Olympus Fashion Week: Uli )
( OFW: Laura )
( OFW: Michael )
( OFW: Jeffrey )
Wasn't that fun? If you enjoyed it, stay tuned for when I bring you my favorite (and least favorites!) of the Project Runway Canada designs.

Mom came over this afternoon and brought my winter clothes...the weather is finally getting cooler, yay! (I can't believe I'm excited for cold weather, but I was getting so sick of the hot weather! Though give it time and I'll soon be bitching about how cold it is!)
We went out to eat downtown at a Mexican restaurant, then headed to the zoo where we saw Deep Sea 3D at the Imax. I don't think I've worn 3D glasses since I went to Disney World when I was nine. The film was really cool, though it sorta freaked me out when the first scene is of all these jellyfish and they're like right in front of you!
Check out this cute wool skirt I got with my birthday certificate from the Gap!

Somebody please kill me. Jessica Simpson's new song is on the radio and I kinda like it. Probably because it sounds like an '80s song.
I chatted with Mom and she told me Mary F-V broke both her arms when she was walking the other day and took a nasty fall when she tripped over a curb and landed on her arms. Ouch!
She also had talked to Bill since he's been back from Hawaii and he told her he had gotten us all presents, but couldn't send them because they were "too bulky," so he's going to come to Lincoln sometime in August, then give them to us.
So after I talked to Mom, I called Bill to see if I could find out what my present was. He said he got me seven things! Yay!! He wouldn't tell me what they were, but he did give me one hint on one of them. One of them is made out of coral and I guessed earrings? a ring? a necklace? and he said I was on the right track, hehe. He said he almost got me a coconut purse and now I want one! That sounds cool. He said he didn't give me a coconut bra, lol. Um, no thanks!
He also gave me hints for Mom and Dad's gifts so I could try to guess those.
Apparently Dad's present was the bulky one (Mom and I thought maybe he had bought us those lamps with the dancing hula girls!) The clue he gave me was that it was an instrument so my first guess was a ukelele, which was wrong, then my second guess was a dididgerdoo. (Yes, I know I spelled that wrong, and yes, I know those are Australian instruments). Bill then proceeds to do a hilarious impression of a didigerdoo. I ask if this instrument is in the guitar family and no, it has no strings, my brother replies. So I next guess a bongo drum and I'm right! Yay!
The clue he gave for mom's presents were that they were both food, so of course I guessed pineapples and coconuts, but that wasn't it. He said one was a nut and I guessed cashews and coconuts (lol) and he finally whispered macadamiums...oh snap, I can't spell that either! For the life of me I couldn't guess the other one even when he told me it was a type of bean that you grind. Duh! Of course it was coffee!
I got a few new items! From Rampage I ordered this animal print top and this printed top.
From the Gap, I bought this top and from Old Navy I got this denim vest.

In the mail I got this "Stuff and Save Bag" from Old Navy where you stuff as much merchandise as you can into this plastic bag and you get 20% off, so of course I had to go shopping today! This is what I got:
-this striped polo shirt.
-this rope top in tutti fruitti pink.
-this tunic in brown earth. (I need to get a matching cami to go with it).
-these denim minis.
-a black tank with a white crochet pattern.

The other day I saw this hugeass bird outside my sliding door. I had my blinds open and was walking into my main area and Mac was intently looking out the window and out of the corner of my eye I saw something and at first I thought it was a small dog, but it was this bird as big as a peacock! I think it was a turkey because it had that red thingy under its chin. But don't turkeys have feathers that sort of fan out at the back? This bird's tail was like that of a regular small bird. I have no idea what it was, but it was huge! It sorta freaked me out because I'm not used to seeing birds bigger than my cat outside on my back patio! And I have no idea where in the hell it came from. Unless somebody near me has a pet bird and it got loose, lol. So I just shut my blinds and eventually it must have gone away.
I got some new stuff the other day! I got these shoes in white. Aren't they cute? I also tried on these sandals (I didn't get them because I didn't have money for two pairs) and these, but they didn't fit me too well. I also tried on a pair of cute ballet flats that were made out of black and white mohair, but they didn't have any in my size and they were on sale. Damn!
At Wet Seal I got a couple of tops: one is a white haltertop with black flowers (it kinds look like my mom's rosemalling). I almost got it in orange, but I think the black and white will go with more things. And I got a taupe t-shirt with "Baffin Bay" on the front. I also got some really awesome (and cheap!) jelwery:
-Chain necklace with a flying bird.
-Chain necklace with a lightning bolt. (Sis, you should get this necklace to go with your new thunderclouds tank top! That would be so cute!)
-Thread necklace with smooth faux stones spaced out all around it. Very bohemian like.
-3 tier wire hoop earrings with small beads attached to each one.

( Damn, I love this show! )
SNL had the funniest skit last night when Scarlett Johansson was hosting. They did a spoof of this MTV show called My Sweet 16 which I've only seen once (and once was enough). The funny (and kinda scary) thing was is that they didn't really have to spoof much of it all. It was already like the real show. In the episode I saw, they followed this rich bitch around who wanted to have a Moulin Rouge style party, so she and her mom (Daddy did't seem to be in the picture or was smart and didn't want to be on this craptastic show and have all the world he's related to this spoiled asshat) go to Betsey Johnson to get her dress and the bitch is so horrible to her mom (who takes all the bullshit her daughter gives to her and is catering to her every needs - UGH!) And then the girl is handing out invitations and she just FREAKS OUT when this one girl gets one because she's not suppose to be invited and blah, blah, blah. Well, anyway on the SNL skit Scarlett played this spoiled, whiny, rich girl who's always telling her parents to shut up and she says to the camera, "I've made an agreement with my mother - every time she says something stupid, she has to give me $1000." Then at her party her parents have hired her Hailey and Hilary Duff to sing "My Lips are Sealed," only instead they got the Go-Gos and Scarlett whines, then she whines because they give her the wrong car she wanted. (And that reminds me on the real show I watched, the bitch whined because she was getting a USED car. Oh my God, shut up bitch. I never got a car for my 16th birthday...I doubt a lot of people do). Anyway, the skit just cracked me up because it was so true to the real show!
Here are my latest purchases from Gap. I love having a Gap card!
-Since my brother got an extra Christmas present (snow boots), my mom said she'd buy me a peacoat if I saw one I liked. Well, I didn't see any, but I did however buy this coat which I got in watermelon.
-This cable crew neck sweater in island turquoise.
-This striped v-neck T in navy.
-This pocket T in watermolon.
-This cable knit zip up hoodie in pink.

My phone rang this morning at 7:45 and I knew it wad Dad. He said he was going to call before he left to fix my tire. I thought he was calling from home, but he said he was in my parking lot(!) So I had to get up (ugh) and give him my car keys. I have to admit I felt a little guilty that he was out there in the freezing cold changing my damn car's tire while I was taking a hot shower...
In Oral Lit class we had to write down out two strengths and two weaknesses we have when we read aloud. It was easy for me to think of the latter: reading too fast and swaying too much. It was a little difficult coming up with the strengths. I thought about putting "I'm always well-dressed" except that sounded concieted and really didn't have anything to do with my readings. Then I thought about putting, "I write good stories," but that sounded even more concieted, so I put down volume and eye contact, although my eye contact still kind of sucks. When class ended, I put on my white Banana Republic coat and my new black hat and Mark said to me, "You look so cute!" Hee! And I said, "Thanks, you look cute too." I love Mark, he's so funny!
Check out what I got at the Gap with my 20% off discount coupon:

-this shirt in green (to go with the sweater)
-this wrap in pink and it was on sale, boo yah!

Dad called today and said he found a tire for a decent price, so now he needs to come up here to change it. Only problem is, our schedules don't quite fit and it's suppose to get really nasty and snow tomorrow, but he's going to try to come tomorrow morning if it't not *too* bad.

So it turns out I blew my tire on my way home the other day. Whoops. Dad came yesterday and he was yelling at me for driving it that way. Well, excuse me, but I didn't know my fucking tire blew out! Then he yelled at me some more for not knowing anything about cars. Uh, well, sorry! Grrr.... Well, we (okay, he) changed the tire with a spare one, but it's smaller, so it's not going to last long, so I'm pretty much screwed, yeah. It's time to buy a new (very cheap) car. So my yesterday afternoon was filled with shouting, tears, and greasy hands. So much fun!
After Dad left, I went to the mall because shopping makes me feel better, lol. I got the Ice Cream Man kit for Lendie (I still think the bubblegum scent is nasty, but maybe she'll like it, *shrugs*), and the Sarah Jessica Parker perfume, Lovely for Mom because she saw it on Oprah's favorite things and when we went to Von Maur in Lincoln she liked the smell of it. I also used my Bath and Body Works coupon and bought cherry blossom shimmer mist and almond face scrub. Then I used my discount card at Old Navy and bought a cute blue shirt with a winking penguin on the front and a striped sweater in different shades of green. Okay, that's it. No more shopping for me except for Christms presents...save for the 20% off discount card I have for the Gap. I mean, I do have to use it before the end of the year!
It's supposed to snow tonight. Ugh.

I had to wake up at 7:30 and dressed under my covers because I was so freaking cold! Here's what I wore in the 20 degree weather without my winter coat:
-gray tank and zip up from Banana Republic
-Notre Dame zip up hoodie
-leather coat
-jeans
-thick pair of socks
-Ugg botts (I love my Uggs!)
-mittens
-black headband to cover ears
-black wool hat
-scarf
So I was able to stay pretty warm with all those layers.
Today in Lit Magazine we got on the subject of movies and TV (like we always do) and it was so funny because Seth said he needed help because he had gotten totally addicted to a certain TV show and at first I was thinking maybe it was Lost, but then he said he had rented the first season of Desperate Housewives and had watched an entire disc the night before and was like, "That's four hours of my life I'll never get back." LMAO. And then Brian was like, "My mom hates that show, but yet she watches it every week." And there are a lot of Arreted Development fans in that class! Yay! (Oh, and they better not cancel that show...I hope another station picks it up!) Neil said when Party of Five was on, he could never miss an episode of that and Gabe showed us Neve Campbell's way of acting: smelling like someone just farted, lol. I never saw that show, but I guess that was her reaction to everything: to scrunch up her nose. Oh, and then somehow the conversation also got on the subject of John Mayer and how everyone hates him and Christie said that he was a douche, and Seth said he hadn't used that work for a while. Then he said, "The last time I called a guy a douche was..." and it was completely silence. OMG, that was the fucking most hilarious thing. Seth cracks me up! I also love this class, we talk about the most random things. Another thing was that one of the stories one of us was reading was using the British spelling of words and Gabe was saying that was one of his pet peeves when Americans used the British spelling of things and I totally agreed with him. That drives me CRAZY! I can't stand it when Americans write "honour" or "grey" or whatever. And I really hate it when Americans speak with a British accent (um, hi, Madonna). To me, it's only acceptable if you are playing a British person in a play or movie or making fun of the British accent. But anyway...writing "colour" or "favourite" isn't going to make your more posh!!
In fiction class we were paired with a partner to read our scenes and then they had to fill out a sheet. I was paired with Angelique and had fun coming up with dialogue she could add for her story about a crack addict. It was so funny because every sentence this one drug dealer said ended in, "bitch" and I helped her change one line slightly. Instead of "Get your ass over here," I suggested to use "bitchass," lol. Angelique said I was very helpful!
Haha, I'm watching ANTM now and Bre just said (about Kim), "That bitch ain't right. That ain't right" and waved her finger at the camera, LMAO.
After class I did some shopping to use up my ten percent off cards. I swear, I've bought more clothes in the last month than in my entire life. I used my ten dollars off coupon at Bath and Body Works and bought a Hendri Bendel candle in Firewood for Mom and Tutti Dolci lip gloss in apple torta I'll put in Lendie's present since I have her name for Christmas. At the Gap I used my 10% off discount card and bought three pairs of striped socks and at the Banana Republic I used my 10% off discount card and bought stretch double v neck tee in raspberry ice and a metallic long-sleeved shirt.
OMG, I fucking HATE that T-mobile commercial with the little girl who's talking on the phone in a speeded up valleygirl voice. You know, the one where she's like, "Our cheer leading group shouldn't eat tuna" or whatever. AURGHGHGHGHHGHG!!!
Yay! (Oh, and they better not cancel that show...I hope another station picks it up!) I got some new clothes the other day. I feel like Becky Bloomwood! I actually got this sweater (in a teal color) the other week. But yesterday I got these lace gaucho pants (they have faux pockets in the back). I also got this crushed velvet cami in black. (Sis, I showed you the wrong one, it was actually this one! But they look alike, lol! I got another really pretty top that's the same shape as the other one, but it's ivory color with lace over silk, it's really pretty! I also got a pair of earrings that kind of look like these except they don't have the beads or anything in the middle.
The other day in Oral Lit, we were divided into three groups of five and had to present a poem we were given outside in the amphitheater. I was in a group with Mark, Emily, Margaret, and Tom. We read a poem called I am Waiting. It was hilarious because we made the audience wait a couple of minutes before we started. I personally thought we had the best presentation since we had Mark in our group and he's had experience with the theater.

I was in Lincoln on Monday and Mom and I went shopping. We got Emily some stuff for her Christmas present (and birthday since I kinda forgot it...whoops!): In Stlye magazine, two books: The Secret Life of Bees and Memoirs of a Geisha, Sheryl Crow's new CD, Very Merry Cranberry body wash from Bath and Body Works, Burt's Bees lip balm, and dangly dark blue stone Kenneth Cole earrings. Also at the Bath and Body Works I got handsoap in their new holiday scents: Very Merry Cranberry and Winter Candy Apple. I also got a coupon where if I spend at least $35 on my next visit, I'll get ten dollars off. Boo yah! I think I'll get one of those Henri Bendel candles for Mom. Those smell so good! I gave her the orange citrus one last year and it was heaven! I got three new hair pieces: a beaded black srunchie, a beaded green scrunchie, and a hair tie with a blue-green flower. Most exciting of all I got some new clothes for winter since most of my old winter clothes I've had since middle school or high school. At the Banana Republic, I got:
-this waist-tie cardigan in cranberry (well, the official color is mulberry lane, but I like cranberry better) with a camisole in fashion rose.
-This green cardigan with a white long-sleeved shirt.
-This gray camisole with a matching gray zip-up.
And at the Gap, I got:
-a pair of jeans.
-this ribbed turtleneck in blue heaven.
-this sweater in snow.
-this striped ribbed sweater in gray and white.
-beige wrap cardigan and matching camisole.
-this velvet blazer in purple with a lace camisole in primrose pink.
I also got two pairs of black pants at Von Maur, one is the kind that looks like you're wearing a skirt.
