Let's see how I would do on Deal or No Deal

I'm going to play the online game of Deal or No Deal in "real time" and we'll see how I do. This is probably how I would play the game if I was ever on the show.

It's time to play! )

A rather addictive show....

is what Deal or No Deal is. Watching last night's episode got me thinking....as far as I know, nobody has ever won the million dollars, am I right? But how many times has someone actually picked the one million dollar case? (I've picked it once from playing the online game! It was in my favorite number, case 24...of course stupid me, settled for the banker's offer of $100,000+)

Anyhoo....there was a woman last night who had the million in her case, #8. (Also, wasn't the million in case #8 when the South African woman who was next picked it from her first round of opening five cases?) But honestly if I were her, I probably would have done the same and gone with the deal of $186,000. The five cases left included the one million, and everything else was under $50,000. If she had kept going until the last two remaining cases (one million and $100) remained, she would have had at least half a million dollars. Ouch! (And I would have definately taken the deal then...no way I would risk that money then find out that my case only had $100!) She didn't look too happy when she found out her case had the one million, but leaving with over $100,000 is pretty good. If I were on that show, that would be my goal. I'd probably say deal as soon as I got to that amount. (As I did in the online version!)

My ultimate DoND viewing experience would be to have someone (preferablly a giant asshat) have two cases remaining: one million and the penny. They decline the banker's offer of half a million, and Howie opens the case to find out that they have won....one cent! Oh, how I would laugh and laugh...though I doubt anybody would be that stupid to take that gamble.

Deal or No Deal

pissed off VM
I had to wake up at 6:30 because I had to be at work at 7 this morning. Ugh, that sucked so much. I barely got any sleep because my sleeping arrangement was all screwed up. Waking up at 6:30 on a SATURDAY is just wrong. It's just wrong, people!! I am not a morning person at all, so I was not very happy about this and I usually work evenings. I had to run out breakfast to the people. It was so embarrasing because I had to shout people's names because they got rid of their system of placing numbers on a table. First of all, I fucking hate yelling in public places. Especially in the morning, especially when I'm dead tired. So I was in a pretty foul mood, especially when people told me I had to yell louder. I was yelling loud as everyone else. I was ready to take a cheese grater to a few people who normally don't bother me. See how irritable I get in the mornings? When I got home at 3, I went back to sleep for three hours.

I don't usually watch Deal or No Deal because I'm usually working or something else is on another channel, or I just forget, but I watched it last night. Even though some of the contestants and their family members are a little too "actorly" (um, is that even a word? lol) for me, it is quite an addicting show. There was this woman who was doing quite well and at one point the "banker" offered her $299,000. Shit, that is a lot of money! She had three big values left: one million, half a million, and $300,000 and three small values left: one dollar, $10,000, and $50,000. Well, it turns out none of the huge numbers were in her case because she kept picking them and her bank offer value kept dropping lower...and lower. In the end, she had $50,000 in her case, but took the banker's deal of $25,000 because there was half a chance that her case could have one dollar. People seem to get really cocky with this show, of course, if I were up there, I might be tempted to go on if there was a one in six chance I could have one million dollars in my case, but I would have picked the sure thing. Damn, $299,000 is a nice chunk of change! I think her husband was pissed off at her, heh.
