I went to Blockbuster after work and rented a couple of DVDs. Just a few minutes ago, I went to pop one in...and the disc wasn't in there!! What the hell? I didn't even notice that the DVD box felt lighter or anything and I saw the girl take off the little security thing, but I don't think she looked inside the box. (I never pay attention to what they're doing; I'm always reading the sign that says what's coming out soon). But seriously, how can they have an empty box on their shelves? Aren't they always suppose to check the movies to make sure the discs are in there? I know they always do that with the DVDs I bring back. I would have gone back or called them, but I think they close at midnight, so I'll have to go back tomorrow and explain what happened. I'm just worried that they're going to make me pay for the missing DVD. Ugh, that would piss me off so much.

This afternoon I went to Best Buy and bought the special edition DVD of The Little Mermaid. I love that movie so much! And the best part was, with it being on sale for $14.99 and because I had a five dollar off coupon thanks to my Reward Zone card, it only cost me $10.69 PLUS I got to choose between a free Sebastian or Flounder plushie. I chose Sebasian because he's my favorite charater in the movie. Sebastian ROX!! He's sitting on top of my computer now. Every time I hear the name Sebastian, I think of a little singing reggae crab! My French penpal once told me there were three Sebastians in her class and I was like, "Oh, like the crab!" Hahaha...
It was 92 degrees when I headed out to work at three. And yesterday it was 90 degrees! WTF!? It's October! It isn't supposed to be this hot! It's fall! It should be cooling down. I acutally want cooler weather, I'm sick of this goddamn hot weather!

Last Friday I watched my Goblet of Fire DVD...finally after buying it about a month ago! It's the only HP moviie I own on DVD. I do own the first one on video, but that was back before I had a DVD player, so I never watch it because videos suck! Watched it and still loved the movie and it's still my favorite HP movie. Mr. Critic can bite me if he thinsk PoA is the best. Just because he has a hard-on for Cauron, he thinks that movie is like !!!THE BEST!!! Potter movie. But it's not.
That little kid in the movie, Nigel, is just such a PLEM! (Precious Little English Muffin). I could just fry him up and sprinkle sugar on him and eat him like a funnel cake! I just want to pinch his little cheeks. He's just so dang adorable.
Speaking of PLEMs, in the special features they showed how the actors had grown up. Aww, they were so cute when they were little. I haven't played any of the games. I'm much too old for games! They didn't have many deleted scenes, but they chose good scenes to delete, nothing we needed, although the one where Snape catches the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw getting it on in the carriage made me choke on my hard boiled egg. The "Dance Like a Hippogriff" segment really scared me. That was a really bad song and they were really scary.
Did you know that scene where Krum is being followed by a bunch of fangirls was shot in front of a blue screen? What the hell? Why does that need a blue screen? I can understand the dragon sequence and the underwater sequence, but damn, can't they find a lake in Scotland or wherever they shot it? I also learned that they CGIed Ralph Fienne's nose out. Ha, and here I was thinking it was really good makeup and was wondering how difficult it must be for him to breathe!
Speaking of breathing difficulties, they had a segment about the Second Task which they had to shoot underwater. (Duh). Daniel Radcliffe said if he was drowning, he was supposed to give the thumbs up sign. Now if I were drowning, I wouldn't be giving the damn thumbs up sign. I'd be flailing my arms and trying to get to the surface!
I wish they'd give Jason Isaacs his own spinoff movie because he cracks me up as Lucius Malfoy. The DVD came with a brochure where you can buy his pimp cane, lol, but it costs $95, so I'm too poor to be as cool as Lucius Malfoy.
Speaking of Jason Isaacs, when I was in line at Best Buy the other day, I saw a commercial for a new special edition of The Patriot that's coming out soon. Whooo! I love that movie! :-D I don't know if I'll get it, I'll probably just rent it to watch the new features.

This is just asking to be made into an icon with snarky text.
I bought Brokeback Mountain and Chronicles of Narnia today. That's right! I bought both of them at the same time. Who says you can't love both movies? I also bought RTC3, but my damn computer won't play it! I'll have to call Bill tomorrow and see if he can help me.
When I walked into class this afternoon, Kim had a bag of jelly beans and she made everyone close their eyes and taste the white ones because she couldn't figure out what flavor it was. I thought it was coconut, TJ and Brian thought it was pina colada, Elizabeth thought it was bubble gum, and Davida and Matt thought it was vanilla. Hehe, Davida was worried they were the Harry Potter jelly beans. She said she once tried the vomit one (by accident...she thought it was a Jelly Belly since it was in a Jelly Belly bag) and nearly vomited herself since it really did taste like vomit. I've never tried thos Bertie Bott Every Flavor Beans and I've always wondered if the gross ones were really that bad. Then we were trying to think of the other gross ones like earwax and booger and Davida says, "I think they also have urine and body odor..." Eww, I hope not!

My awesome DVD collection.
Keep in mind that Chocolat, Cider House Rules, Erin Brockavich, Ocean's 11, CTHD, Stand By Me, Shawshank, GWAPE, an Legends of the Fall technically belong to my parents, but I'm counting them since I consider us having a joint-collection. (And besides, I bought all those as gifts!)
SOME GOOD NEWS: MIKALAH WAS VOTED OFF AI LAST NIGHT!!!! Ding dong! The witch is dead!

Went to Best Buy today to spend the $45 I got in the mail from which I accumlated with my points for the Reward Zone Program. For every dollar I spend, I get points, and when I get points, you get gift cards to spend there. (Hmm...this reminds me, I wonder if I'll ever get my damn rebates back? If I don't, I'm gonna send them a very angry letter!)
Anyway, I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, which I should have bought instead of SeaWorld Tycoon, because that game sucks ass! You can't even rotate the damn camera or make your own rides or care for the animals. So fucking stupid. I can't believe I spent $20 on that piece of crap! But RCT2 is really cool. It probably wasn't the smartet idea to get that now when I have so many projects due....I also got the DVDs of Legally Blonde and Titanic. They were both $9.99, so that was a good deal.
So I found out today that Andy Roddick is from Omaha. Huh, I had no idea. I was listening to the radio and the DJ said that he and Mandy Moore broke up, and there were rumors she was now with Josh Groban. I can't picture him with a pop princess. I love ya, Mandy, but you are a pop princess. Aww...I thought she and Andy were cute. But anyway, the DJ mentioned he was from here. LOL, I can't beieve I didn't know that.
I have one more episode to go before I'm finished with the second season of The Sopranos. I won't get the third season until the next time I'm in Lincoln or Mom comes here...hopefully that will be soon! OMG, on the second to last episode Janice killed her fiance! She said something to him that he didn't like, and he punched her in the jaw, then sits down and starts calmly eating his dinner. She goes away and comes back with a gun pointed at him and I'm like "Holy shit!" and she shoots him twice while her and Tony's mom is upstairs, doped up on some sleeping pill! You gotta love that fuckin' show.

Ugh. I am so stupid sometimes. Okay, a lot.
After class I decided to go to Best Buy to get Mandy's present and The School of Rock DVD for myself since I loved the movie so much when I rented it last weekend. I remember Mandy saying that she wanted Chicago, so I looked for that. Now, you think a store like Best Buy would have a recent, popular, Oscar winning movie, right? EHHHH! WRONG! I looked in the comedy, drama, and musical section, but nothing. So I had to go to Plan B. I remember the other movies Mandy said she wanted and the only one I found was The Shining. So I picked that up, along with School of Rock, and a computer game where you make your own SeaWorld park. (Which sux, btw. Should have gotten RCT2!)
So I get home and look over Mandy's e-mail and must not have read it quite clearly because she said she KIND OF wanted The Shining, but then told me not to get it. Then, later, I'm taking my merchanise out to admire it and notice that I got the WIDE SCREEN version of School of Rock and not the FULL SCREEN. Ugh, I must have had a brain fart when I bought it. Sometimes I mix those two up. So, I had to go back to Best Buy to return The Shining and exchange for a wide screen version.
I went to Borders next to see if they had Chicago or The Nightmare Before Christmas, but of course they didn't. Then I went to Suncoast where I finally found one of the movies, but it cost $32.09! Fucking $32.09 for a DVD movie? That's the last time Suncoast ever sees me step foot in that ripoff store again!

So school started. Blah. I only had one class today: Myth of the Melthing Pot: a Literary Perspective. The good news is that it's from 12-12:50, but the thing that sucks is that it's Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (UGH!) But it's my only class on Mondays and Fridays. My teacher is Nigerian-American, so she has a bit of an accent, but it's not to hard to understand her. It looks like we have to debate in this class, which I don't like very much..... We only have two papers to write, but one of them has to be 8-10 pages, oh God help me. (LOL, can you tell I'm not very enthused about this class and I've only been to one class?) After class I went to Blockbuster and rented Dumb and Dumberer and Empire Records, then went to Wal-Greens and boughts two folders and a five subject notebook. (I decided to get one notebook this semester, instead of one for each class).
I sold my first item on E-bay for $10.50! Not bad for a starting price of one cent. I think I may now have to sell some of my old CDs I never listen to anymore. I've been really stupid in the past and bought a CD for just one song. But now I think I can make a mix CD of the songs I want to keep on the CDs I want to sell. I may sell some of my old VHSes, but I don't know if anyone would buy them since DVDs have taken over the technology world. I did something really stupid on ebay. There was a CD single I was interested in bidding on, and instead of bidding $1.25, it went $125. I swear I didn't notice it until it was already posted. You can imagaine I was like OH FUCK! $125 was down for my MAX bid, and I actually won the CD single for $12.25, which is still too damn much for one song. I did e-mail the person and explained my mistake a while back, but he never e-mailed me back. So I'm just not gonna pay. I'll probably get a negative mark, but fuck no I'm not going to pay 12 dollars for one song. You think EBAY would give you a ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO BID $125 FOR THIS PRODUCT? memo. You know? God damnit, I need to be more careful!
Awww, check out this cute picture. What is it with little girls and Heath Ledger? LMAO. (The girl is Emma Bolger from In America, she's so preciously cute).

Found out I didn't have to work on Sunday, so I decided to go to the movies. I was gonna go to the 1:40 showing of Mona Lisa Smile but I arrived at the theaters at 1:45 and even though I could have still made it (because of the 20 minutes of previews! Sheesh!) it said it was sold out, so I went to the 2:10 showing of 21 Grams instead. It was a pretty good movie even if it did jump around a lot. All three leads deserve Oscar nods. After the movie, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought the Dixie Chicks Top of the World Tour Live CD.
Today I got a package from my sis! She sent me a cute keychain of Eyore and two DVDs: Pirates of the Carribean and The Mummy Returns. The latter was her own DVD and I still feel guilty about her sending it to me. You didn't have to do that, sis! But I love both of the movies, I saw POTC this evening. And in the afternoon I saw Mona Lisa Smile. It was a good movie, but not spectacular. Julia Stile's and Kirsten Dunst's accents were really weird and forced.
Later this evening I went to Borders and got the Best of 2003 Entertainment Weekly and the ROTK soundtrack.

Tuesday before class I went to Best Buy to buy the DVD of Finding Nemo. I haven't watched it yet, but it looks like it's got a SEA (haha, get it?) of extra features and they have have two versions of the movie: wide screen and full screen. I can take this movie home during Thanksgiving since my parents haven't seen it. I don't know if Bill's seen it or not. I also bought the new Mandy Moore CD, Coverage. (My sis made me a fan when she gave me MM's self titled album. Still lovin' that one, sis!) There were acutally two versions of Coverage there, with two different covers. At first, I thought it was one of those CDs that have like four different covers or something, but then I noticed one had a sticker saying it had a bonus DVD with 30 mintues of footage and a music video. That was only a dollar more than the regular CD, so I got that. The whole CD is covers of older songs. There are 12 songs in all and it's really sad that I was only familiar with two of them: I Feel the Earth Move and One Way or Another. But I did recognize a lot of the artists she covers: Todd Rugdren, Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Carly Simon, Joan Armatrading. My favorite songs are Have a Little Faith in Me, One Way or Another, Drop the Pilot, and The Whole of the Moon.
We went over our stories in fiction writing. We got to my story since it was the fourth one and it was painless enough.
Today I had to give my speech in lit about Tennessee Williams and his play, The Glass Menagerie. Ack, it was so nerve-wracking. I hate it when you're standing in front of the class and everyone is staring at you..oh God....and to top it off, I woke up feeling sick to my stomach. (Not because of nervousness, I felt really sick!) Thank God I didn't throw up!

I've noticed that there are two kinds of autumn days. There are nice autumn days when the weather is just the perfect temperature. It's still warm enough not to wear a jacket, but with a nice cool breeze and the whole world smells like cinnamon and apples. You know, the kind of day where you're Happy! To! Be! Alive! Then there are the crappy autum days where it's cold, drizzly, gray, you know those kinds of adjectives. That's how it was today: cold, drizzly, and gray. All day: cold, drizzly, gray. And right now it's cold, drizzly, and gray.
Went to my classes. Form and Theory...we uh...I don't even remember. Lit...prof. talked more about Othello. You know, I'm thinking of renting O again because when I saw it a couple years ago, I knew it was based on the Shakespeare play, but I wasn't familiar with it. It was one of the most disturbing/depressing movies I've ever seen, but now that I know the orginial, I kinda want to see it again. Maybe it will give me a new perspective. It's quite a rather disturbing, but fascinating story. We got out at five in Lings. Whoo hoo! That was nice - getting out 45 minutes early. We got our tests back. I got a C. Blah. Oh well, I'm relieved I didn't get an F or D. (That's what I'll probably get on my article -grrr!)
Also, during the time between my lit and ling class, I was waiting in this lounge room where there are couches and tables. I was reading my ROTK book (I'm on the second part now - go me!) and other people were also there studying or reading. Now this isn't a library, so people can chat and that's okay. But there was this one really loud and obnoxious girl who sat in the lounge with two of her friends and not only would she shut up but she was SUPER LOUD. LIKE SHE WOULD TALK LIKE THIS. I swear to God. Ughhh! God I wanted to put a muzzle on her. I don't mind people talking, but damn! Do you have to be so DAMN FUCKING LOUD WHEN YOUR FRIENDS ARE RIGHT THERE? It was quite distracting. I couldn't concentrate on my book anymore. And I wasn't the only one who found her annoying. After she and her friends left to go to class, this other girl said, "Thank God." LOL Thank God indeed.
Went to Blockbuster and rented three DVDs (this is the first time I've rented DVDs since I got my DVD player, believe it or not): Holes, What a Girl Wants, and The Core. I wanted to get Sex and the City: Season 1, Vol 1, but it was rented out. :-( The guy said if I joined this membership thing for ten dollars, I could get two free rentals for free everytime I rented on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. He said I could only get movies from the floor and I was like, "Huh?" But he meant anything that wasn't against the wall. So I rented the first two DVDs of the first season of 24. So now I have five DVDs to watch lol.
I just hit myself in the head with a frozen hamburger. Ow.

OMG, cont. writers was SO boring yesterday. We got out five minutes early. And it's a two and a half hour class. Lucky us. Ugh. Seriously, I had no idea what my teacher was rambling on about this time. But that's because I wasn't paying any attention. I brought all the stories we have to read for fic. writing and read all of those. I also studied for my linguistics class next week. LOL I had my Cold Mountain book in front
of me and I would take a letter from the book like "C" and in my mind go, "Okay, it's voiceless, palatal, stop." Then I would take the next letter, L, and think, "Okay, that's voiced, alovelar, approximant" and so on. But dude...we were reading these boring ass poems then he would take like fucking 15 minutes going over each one. God, it was torture! Torture I say!
Speaking of Cold Mountain I finally finished the book. I can't remember when I started it...I think a few weeks ago. It was aite. A little on the boring side for me. But then, I don't like books that take place back in "the olden days." This takes place around 1860s. And I swear to God, it seems like the only thing they do in the damn book is cook and eat. Cook and eat. Cook and eat. Cook and eat. Cook and eat. AURGH! (Yes, and it made me hungry reading this damn book!) But I do plan to see the movie. It's got a great cast - Nicole Kidman, Jude Law, Renee Zellwegger. We'll see if I like the book or movie better. Next up on my reading list: Return of the King. All I have to do is get the book!
Speaking of LOTR, I watched the cast commentary of FOTR last night and it ROCKED! Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Liv Tyler, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, John Rhys-Davies, and Sean Bean all contribute to the cast. The four "hobbits" are in the same room as they're giving the commetary and OMG, they are HILARIOUS! Dom was talking about this game he made up that they played with a cup...I forgot how it went, I need to rewatch it. Then they talked about this game where Dom, Billy, and Sean made up a game and they called it Tig Tog or something like that and Elijah sees them playing it and he wants to play, but what he doesn't know is that they made it up so as they're teaching him they're making up all these rules...LOL and it's just so hilarious how they describe it on the DVD. Then Elijah comments how he found out a year later it wasn't even a real game! LMAO! Then at the end Billy Boyd says, "Doing this commentary was fun, but did we really have to be naked for it?" LOL! And oh! Also during the end credits Sean was saying something how working on the movie with people from all over the world reminded him of the Egyptians working on the pyramids because he knew it was such a big project and yada, yada, yada, and one of the others comments, "Except we weren't slaves." Then Sean's like, "Oh, actually there's been some new evidence that the Egytians weren't slaves. When I was taking Egyptology at..." and then I can't remember what he says because I'm just laughing too hard. It just cracked me up. And I think it was Dom who replies, "Wow, that's quite interesting." LOL! That was great! Hehe and Elijah and Sean mentioned how sometimes they would accidently say lines with their American voices. Elijah said how when he's suppose to scream "What are you doing?" at the hobbits when they start a fire that he said it in his real voice and he did an example of it and LOL - so funny. And then Sean tells how he was supposed to say, "Get out," or something like that and he says it like, "Git out!" LMAO. (Okay, it's funnier if you're actually watching it, obviously). What else, what else? Oh, Sean mentioned to Elijah how everybody comes up to him and asks if his (Elijah's) eyes are digitally enchanced, not only for the color, but also for the size. And Elijah mentions how he gets that all the time too - which I can understand! Then Dom (LOL he is so fucking hilarious) says how his eyes were digitally enchanced..because he's cross eyed. LOLL!! That was great. I love the banter between the four of them. Oh! And how could I forget about this: Elijah, Dom, and Billy were all giving Sean a hard time because he was worried about the safety of the helicopters and he was making sure the pilot knew where he was going and telling him that there were two helicopters behind him. Then they said he was directing the other helicopters when he landed! LOL! How cute. I also learned that the scene with Sam underwater at the very end when he's going after Frodo in the lake really isn't Sean underwater! They did it at a studio and he's standing up against a blue screen and he's in a pose like he's underwater and they have fans blowing his hair and they put in digital bubbles. I had no idea that scene doesn't take place underwater! That's some pretty sweet shit they got there! I also loved Orli's commentary although I wish he had been with the hobits. But -sigh- I just love his voice. And he was so cute and enthusiastic about the whole movie. He kpet mentioning how "awsome" and "fascinating" everything was and he gave major props to Ian McKellen and Elijah and others which I thought was really nice.
Yeah. The DVD rox.
Saw Seconhand Lions today. Good movie. I was quite pleasantly surprised. It also didn't hurt that they had the trailer for ROTK which was awesome. And speaking of ROTK, I went to B&N before the movie and picked up a copy of the book. Hopefully I will have it read before the movie comes out.
